"A new, £200m shopping centre in the centre of Kingston upon Hull, part of a wider programme to regenerate the town"
ING asked Greig & Stephenson to act as interior design consultants for the St Stephen's project, advising on shop fronts, interiors and signage. Greig & Stephenson was also commissioned to work with tenants, providing them with the support and advice they needed to be ready to trade on opening day.

St Stephen’s is a £200m, two-storey development in the middle of Hull. As well as new retail and leisure units it also includes 220 residential apartments and new homes for the Truck and Albermarle theatres. The infrastructure of Hull has been completely refocused around the shopping centre, with the new Paragon transport interchange transforming the way people use the town.
Greig & Stephenson advised on the design of the shop fronts and interiors, as well as designing the signage for the centre and reviewing the connections to services and utilities. We also created a tenant handbook with advice and guidance for new and prospective tenants, and acted as the main link between retailers and the developer.
Our work with tenants helped them move in and start trading quickly and encouraged successful ongoing relationships between tenants and landlord. For the shopper, St Stephen’s is an attractive, user-friendly interior space.
